Family Day Out
Please help me and support my continued journey around Britain by ordering prints of this photo!
Thinking of warmer times… now I confess that I’m not much of a summer person: the heat, the midges, the hayfever, the burn, the lack of sleep… all point to me being much more of an autumn/winter guy. But what you do get in summer is lush vegetation everywhere.
This was shot when my sister and co. came to visit. I took them for an easy walk from Rydal Water to Grasmere via the Loughrigg Terrace. It was just one of those perfect days: hot but with a breeze, vegetation bursting with life, puffy clouds in the sky. =)
Nikon D7000, Tokina 11–16mm ƒ/2.8, ISO100, 11mm at ƒ/9, three exposures from 1⁄500, 1⁄125 and 1⁄30sec. Not a lot needed to be done with photo, it’s a blend of two photos: a HDR image created from Luminance HDR and the darkest exposure edited for full tonal range. Minor curve adjustments were made to enhance the light mottling on the land from the moving clouds. No colour adjustments were needed, the scene really was this vibrant. =)
