Choose Your Destiny. The entrance to Witch Wood in Lytham. Given the North of England’s previous history regarding witches, you might be forgiven for thinking that the name “Witch Wood” follows in a similar tradition. In fact, the wood was named after a favourite Clifton family horse, the Witch, which is thought to be buried there. You can even found the gravestone deep in the wood. =)

This photo represents yet another foray into the luminosity blending post-processing style of Michael Breitung. This photo would never work with HDR tonemapping; too many trees.

Flowing with the River. Sat in the sun, a cool breeze on our faces, our souls flowing with the river as the Hodder and the Ribble become one.

The Garden by the River. A secluded and secret little “garden” by the River Honddu, Capel-y-ffin, Wales. There were a couple of these lush little grassy areas along the Honddu. It felt like a cosy secret, as the trees opened up, letting the sun through on just this patch of land, away from everything.

The Black Mountains of Powys, Wales, near the Brecon Beacons National Park. Shot on my first day of arriving at Castle Farm in Capel-y-ffin. I could’ve shot photos here for hours, watching the sun and clouds cast dancing shadows across the mountains…

Do You Come Here Often? Me and Fie, trekking through the overgrown, untended countryside to get to Mason Woods in Preston, Lancashire. Dodging stinging nettles near your head was an interesting experience…

Secret Lake. An intimate view of Grizedale Reservoir at Nicky Nook, near Scorton, Lancashire. Nothing but the bwoop of the water, the rustling of the trees… and the creaking of the tiny, ancient pier beneath us…

Watching the River. My favourite sound in the world is the sound of running water. Nothing beats it. How about you?

Which made shooting this scene, near Marles Wood in Lancashire, all the more calming and peaceful.

Twenty feet away, Bamber was enjoying a beer and shooting the sunset. This is how we roll.
