  1. Today’s Photo Saying Bye to Yarrow. Phew, what an evening! Originally, me and my friend Bamber had planned to trek to Coniston Water for some gorgeous mountain/lake/sunset action. However, the weather all week had been pretty bleak, and it wasn’t looking particularly promising this evening neither. So we voted for somewhere closer. I randomly wiki’d “lakes in lancashire” and found the Yarrow Reservoir. This shot was in fact the last bracket of shots I took that evening. On the way back home, there was this little viewing area just off the country road where you can park your car and admire the view. So we did. And got rained on too. Worth it, though. I had stationed my camera and tripod on top of the Yarrow Reservoir bridge, which overlooks either side of the reservoir. Once I’d composed my shot, I just stood here taking brackets every 5 minutes or so for half an hour, to ensure I got the right colours and light. Bamber and Fie had wandered off to shoot their own things. This was, in fact, the last bracket of photos I took before the Heavens opened and poured it down. The clouds were epic.   3. Today’s Photo Careful Where You Step. When me and my friend Bamber visited the Yarrow Reservoir in Lancashire, we found an old stone bridge that bisected the reservoir. The sun was setting over one side of the bridge, and this was the view over the other side. It was a remarkably stormy evening and we were pretty lucky to get away with just a little bit of rain towards the end of our photowalk. Thankfully, it stayed dry, if windy, long enough for me to get this shot. Note how the steps just disappear into the reservoir. Yeah, it’s been raining a lot all June; that reservoir’s pretty full.
