Today’s Photo

Moon Above Side Pike.

You should order a beautiful print of this photo right here.

It always bemuses me slightly when I see the moon in bright daylight, either early in the mornings or late at evenings. I tend to look at the moon and think to myself, “Go home, Moon. You’re drunk. It’s daytime.”

On this occasion, me and Lisabet were exploring and hiking around the Great Langdale valley as the sun was setting. I had espied my winning composition for later, either just before or after sunset, so we set off from bridge over Great Langdale Beck, across the buttercup fields in search of more compositions. I liked how this gate was left open invitingly, pointing down the path towards the fell of Side Pike (GMaps link) with those awesome streaky clouds. =)
